Well, not new in terms of technology by a handful of years I suppose, but I'm delighted with my new toy.
Having alighted recently from the Tyros bandwagon...I said goodbye to my T3 without a tear as it was becoming like the days of the Ford Sierra - suburban drives full of them at one point I seem to remember. Going back a few years, obviously.
The Tyros is a great product, but I felt like a change.
So I went to Swift Music at Bristol and got a Hammond XE-1. Nick was very helpful in getting me kitted out.
OK, the XE-1 is not 2011 exactly, but the warmth of that iconic Hammond drawbar voicing knocks me out. And the theatre organ voicing I am getting excited about too.
The XE-1 is only a single manual affair. I tried to lift the XE-2 double manual one without substantial surgical bracing, and accepted that this really wasn't an option - just as Nick was totting up the financial damage to my current account.
So we started again and the XE-1 does what I want - and probably a lot more once I delve into the gubbings of it all.
So there we are. Tyros to Hammond in a weekend. And I can't leave it alone!

Congratulations Pete on your excellent choice of Organ, your story sounds very similar to mine. I bought an XE200 a few months ago and like you I can't leave it alone, I also have a Tyros 2 which I have hardly touched since having the XE.
As you say they are not the latest technology, but I find my XE very satisfying to play, I nearly considered upgrading my Tyros 2 to a 3 or 4, but I'm so so glad that I didn't.
The only thing I've done to mine is to improve the Drawbar's by putting them through a Ventilator, which simulates a Leslie 122 cabinet perfectly. I had an 11 pin Leslie plug adapted to split the Drawbar sound into the Vent, and the stationary channel as a separate stereo breakout which I feed both into a Yamaha Mixer and through external speakers, and it sounds fantastic. If you want more details on this email me on khorton@gmx.co.uk
