How many organists in the Tower Ballroom use the metronome when playing the WurliTzer? Noticed John Barnett had one on the music desk. On the Chris Hopkins Youtube of John playing, the sound of the metronome was heard. Would this spoil the musical intepretation when playing with this device active?

Pesonally, I think it's important to use a metronome when playing pipes for dancing it is near impossible to keep to the very strict tempo that dancers like. If you speed up a little or slow down, it can cause them to lose step, and the last thing you want is angry dancers!!! There is also a risk that you started out too fast or too slow.
I always use one on the Compton at Bilston for the Thursday Tea Dances, the same as I do at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton and also on the odd occasion when I have played or done guest spots at the Tower, the latter now becoming a distant memory!! hehehe!!
