Expanders

    I have a reasonably modern electronic organ which is fine for Big Band, Theatre Organ, String Orchestras etc but is a little disappointing on Classical Organ sounds.
    Does any one have any experience of using a Classical Organ expander especially ease of setting up and changing registrations?

    Hi dend

    It will depend on how good the Midi specification is on your organ, (Just because its modern doesn’t mean it will automatically have a good Midi Spec) and how flexible your expander is. (Without knowing what the instruments are it is impossible to say whether it will be easy or not)

    Have a look at this Midi tutorial http://www.tweakheadz.com/how_to_get_started_with_midi.html (Its spread over 2 pages) which should allow you to understand what to look for, and how easy it will be with your chosen instruments.

    Thanks for your reply.I have printed off the Midi tutorial you suggested and will now spend some time reading it.It looks quite technical but I will give it a go
