The AT90/80 had an upgrade to 'R' and Roland supplied floppy disks to show off the improvements.
The next one to replace the 'R' was 'S'. This was also upgraded to 'SL'. This 'luxury' board cost £1299 from dealers and an engineer was provided to fit the board.
Now we have the 800/900 series.
Why not talk to Chris or Simon/David at Peterborough.
Allens of Great Yarmouth have a range of s/h Atelier's.
Upgraded ones S to SL did not fetch as much in px as an orginal SL.
Thanks for your advice, Owen. I'll now look to source a board, if they are still about. I'm not looking to exchange the organ anytime soon.
Do you recall any of the enhancements that the board's installation gave to the AT-90?
Geoff
regret none
Geoff - you could try contacting Dean Lawrence at Roland in Swansea, he's always very helpful. I've had various Roland's over the years and always bought the upgrades, but I can't remember what the upgrades achieved - but they were definitely improvements and at least some of them added new sound samples. Getting hold of the upgrades now is likely to be very difficult as I believe they were only ever produced in limited numbers and I doubt any dealer will have unwanted stock. Dean may be able to find them somewhere in the world for you, but I'm afraid it may not be possible now. Good luck. Dave
