I'm looking for an organ on behalf of my father that offers the best approximation of the 'Blackpool sound'. He's already tried a 2-box solution (eg. Miditzer), but these add-ons always involve compromises and added complexity, so he's decided he'd rather have everything built-in to the organ.

The Roland Atelier series seems very good going by YouTube videos and and Yamaha AR-100 seems to have some good theatre organ sounds, too.

Which of these organs is better for the Blackpool / Wurly sound? Are there any others in a similar price bracket that should be added to the list? I'm aware of the Orla Grand Theatre, but that's too expensive... needs to be an organ that can be had used at a similar price to the AR-100 or Atelier.

Thanks.

Hi, I've recently bought this organ secondhand and I wonder if anyone knows where I can find a manual for it, or if anyone has one, if I could get a copy. Obviously I would pay any costs involved.
Also does anyone know if a yamaha mdr3 will work with it. I have a Roland xv2020 sound module which works fine.
regards

Having just bought a Yamaha D Deck (also known as DDK 7), why don't Yamaha UK pull there finger out and import them??

It's such a BRILLIANT instrument, part Tyros part Electrone and well, it's just superb!

Sadly, being British, we're told what we like and can't make up our own minds, no chance when they won't even give it a try!!!

Hello all

Can anyone tell me what enhancements were made to the Roland AT90S to make it an AT90SL? I know that the L stands for luxury, so perhaps enhancements are to do with appearance and lighting?

One other question... did Roland invest in newer samples than those of the original AT90? On the AT90, the strings for instance, "tweet" when notes are held - something to do with the looping of the sample?

Hope all are well...

This is an old-school analogue synth design to sit on top of a conventional organ. A search on the web will give you all the details.

It's been in storage for a good few years now but is still in working order and complete with music stand, cover and owner's manual. Looking for a new home or it goes for a last journey to the tip in a few weeks time.

Does anyone have experience of this piece of equipment from Total Transformation Technology? We had only just found out about it, and the You Tube video clips sound very convincing.
We are going to hear one live during the week - shall we end up buying one or not? Watch this space!!
If we DO, then it could be connected to the Eminent Digital Classical organ (two 61 note manual and 32-note pedalboard) and/or to the Technics GA1
Opinions and experiences welcome before we decided to buy or not.

Can't afford an Allen right now :-( :-(

If ever my ship was going to come in (as they say) it must have been the Titanic!

I wish to start a new topic.

Yesterday I bought a rather expensive audio lead from Maplin, to connect my GA3 to my surround sound hi-fi system. Didn't work. I put the 2 * 1/4" jacks underneath the keyboards at the front of the machine; line out.

Then connected the other end (2 * phono plugs) into my Sony sound system.
The organ was still sounding, but nothing was getting through to the amplifier.

I continuity tested the new leads and OK. I am presuming that there is some
setting on the organ that I am missing. I have set all outputs that I can find
to ON.

Come back from holiday all you wonderful people and give me some ideas.
Please!

Hi,

Anyone got a Compton Electrone PA66 valve amplifier. The version with two smaller tranformers with equal outputs. Without valves no problem. Needed to complete a project.

Hello

I've just acquired, free gratis and for nowt, a Technics SX-EX70 in what seems to be perfect working order. There seems to be very little information about the model on the web; I accept that spares are now unavailable but I'm hoping that one of you may have an owners manual stashed away in your attic or cupboard somewhere.

As my screen name would suggest, I am but a bumbling amateur, who hasn't owned or played an organ since I had to get rid of my old Howard Skyline about 20 years ago. I do however own a Technics KN1500 keyboard, had it for years but became frustrated at the lack of spontaneity (and the lack of a decent depth of sound) compared to a "proper" organ so it's been gathering dust. It does occur to me though that both instruments are MIDI compatible, and I could therefore eventually make use of the keyboard; could any of you please confirm this and tell me where, or if, I can obtain what I'd presume to be the necessary connectors?
