About Truro Cathedral - Organ Recitals

Welcome to our exciting free lunchtime recital programme for 2009.

Enjoy one of the most extensive recital programmes in the country, featuring some of the best organists from the UK and around the world. This year we are opening the series with an ‘ORGAN EXTRAVAGANZA’ which in part celebrates the completion of work on the organ consoles and sees the debut of our BIG SCREEN giving excellent views of the organ keyboards and pedals.

Don’t miss American sensation Cameron Carpenter in August who is one of the most exhilarating organists around.

In October we welcome back David Briggs for another amazing experience that combines his incredible improvisation abilities with the classic silent movie ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ starring Lon Chaney. A special pre-concert supper will be available from the Cathedral Restaurant.

Remember that you can enjoy lunch prior to the Friday lunchtime recitals while the Shop carries an excellent range of CDs, books and other interesting items.
