As well as being home to the EAST DEVON ORGAN CLUB, Sidmouth has it all. With its surrounding hills which keep winter's chill winds away, it is a town full of lovely old buildings and a seafront to savour. It has an uncluttered nineteenth century atmosphere, away from modern commercialism, and is indeed a first class town for people who enjoy the traditional British seaside holiday ,
The first meeting of the club was in February 1984 under the name of "THE EAST DEVON KEYBOARD CLUB" and was held in the nearby town of Colyford. This was changed to the present title during 1986 when the meetings were held at "The Three Horseshoes" Branscombe (midway between Sidmouth and Seaton). It was during 1988 that the club moved to the present venue in Primley Road, Sidmouth. The present membership is around 30 - 35. Primley Road Hall can accomodate up to 100 persons. Visitors to the Club are always welcome.
Since the club is one of the smaller of the UK Organ Club's, it has gained the title of "The Friendly Club". At every concert the stage is "dressed"; suitable lighting of the stage area produces a concert atmosphere, enhanced with three colour change "Jelly Moulds" placed each side of the organ whilst being played. Concerts by professional artists are held once a month from February to November, The AGM is held prior to the February concert. During the half hour interval tea and coffee is served and a raffle is held, when a number of attractive prizes can be won.
Concerts are held on the second Tuesday of each month from February to November.
During 2018 the February, March, October and November concerts will all commence at 2.30pm.
April to September concerts will commence at 7.30pm.
