As well as the EAST DEVON ORGAN CLUB, Sidmouth has it all.  At its unsurpassable best as a back drop, frowning hills keep winter's chill winds away, a town full of lovely old buildings and a seafront to savour.  An uncluttered nineteenth century atmosphere, away from modern commercialism, indeed a first class town for people who enjoy the better class holiday, and first class music at the

The first meeting of the club was February 1984 under the name of "THE EAST DEVON KEYBOARD CLUB" and was first held in the nearby town of Colyford.  This was changed to the present title during 1986 when the meetings were held in a pub "The Three Horseshoes" in Branscombe.  It was during 1988 that the club moved to the present venue in Primley Road, Sidmouth.

The present membership is around 60 and, as the meeting hall has limited accommodation, the maximum attendance is 100 persons.  Since the club is of a small nature it has gained the title of "The Friendly Club"  At every concert evening the stage is "dressed"; suitable lighting of the stage area produces a concert atmosphere, enhanced with three colour change "Jelly Moulds" placed each side of the organ whilst being played.

Concerts by professional artistes are held once a month from February to November, January being reserved for the AGM.  There is no concert in December, when members of the Club get together for a Christmas supper.  Every member of the Club is eligible to win £5.00 on a member ticket draw, if there is no winner the prize of £5.00 is rolled over to the next month.

During the half hour interval a raffle is held, and a number of prizes can be won.
