The Troxy, Stepney first opened its doors to the public on the 11th September 1933 and so September 2013 marked its 80th birthday. Many well known names appeared on stage including Tommy Trinder, The Andrews Sisters, Vera Lynn, Louis Armstrong, Petula Clarke and Cliff Richard.
In this issue we look at the history of the Troxy, report on the event held to celebrate its 80th birthday, and briefly check on progress with the installation in it of Europe’s largest Wurlitzer organ.
